The highly anticipated biennial Citrus Market Outlook Forum was held in Sydney from 16-17 March 2016, with more than 140 representatives from the growing, packing and marketing sectors of the citrus industry in attendance.

Over the one and a half day program, expert speakers and panels explored current and future trends in the export, domestic and juice sectors.

Highlights of the 2016 event included:

  • tree planting and production trends over the next 10 years
  • export market performance, challenges & opportunities
  • country of origin authentication; domestic market trends and new developments
  • prospects for new juice products and juice exports.

Guest speakers from China and the Philippines also gave valuable insights into these rapidly expanding markets.

With all the key players in the Australian citrus industry gathered in one venue, the networking opportunities during the Forum itself, and the popular Sydney Harbour dinner cruise, were invaluable.

Lucky grower wins a trip to Spain!

Following the success of the 2014 trip, Citrus Australia partner MAF Oceania drew one lucky forum delegate's name to win a trip to Spain, which is scheduled for later this year.  Congratulations Mark Trott from Luscious Citrus in Queensland!
