Citrus Australia Welcomes Announcement of Permanent Pacific Seasonal Worker Program for Horticulture

Citrus Australia today welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement that Australian farmers will be able to employ workers from the Pacific Region and East Timor under a permanent Seasonal Worker Program, as of 1 July 2012.
“The Pacific Seasonal Worker Pilot scheme was a particular success in the citrus industry and growers will welcome the news that this will now become a permanent program,” said Judith Damiani, CEO of Citrus Australia.
